This cocuswood flute bears a thistle stamp along with "J. M. Rose Edinburgh" and features a tuning slide. The instrument is fitted with round flat keys and wide silver rings. Overall length measures 667 mm. Based on available evidence, the flute is estimated to have been made between 1820 and 1821.
