Description
Eight-key cocus flute stamped with the quatrefoil mark, circa 1837. Pitches in D with range extending to C natural. Block-mounted sterling silver key work with sterling rings.
Features Rudall & Rose's Patent headjoint with functional adjustment mechanism. The Patent head design, introduced to provide tuning flexibility, survives in working order, a notable rarity among extant examples.
Restored in October of 2025. The wood, metalwork, and Patent mechanism are all in excellent condition.
