No. 15 Piazza / Covent Garden / London
Description
An early boxwood flute stamped "No. 15 Piazza / Covent Garden / London," dating to approximately 1831. This 8-key instrument in D pitch extends down to low C, typical of Rudall & Rose production during their Covent Garden period.
The instrument features medium-sized fingerholes, with all keys and mounts in sterling silver. Keys are mounted in block style, with simple sterling rings. The headjoint is of regular lined construction without embouchure modifications, consistent with the standard design of the period.
